Overview of the Digital SAT

The Digital SAT, which has been restructured from its traditional format, is now composed of two main sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Each of these sections is further divided into two equal length modules. The test has a total duration of 2 hours and 14 minutes, with 64 minutes allocated for the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes for the Math section. There is also a 10-minute break between these two main sections.

Regarding scoring, the Digital SAT maintains the traditional 1600 point scale, with each of the two sections (Reading and Writing, and Math) scored on a scale from 200 to 800. The scoring method, however, has been adapted to account for the test's adaptive nature. In the adaptive test format, the difficulty of questions in the second module is determined by a student's performance in the first module. Answering more difficult questions correctly can lead to a higher overall score. It's important to note that there is no penalty for wrong answers, and it's advisable to answer every question, even if it requires guessing.
